About Ash Cave
Ash Cave is the largest recess cave in Ohio, located in Hocking Hills State Park in Logan County. Named for the large piles of ash found by early settlers — left by Indigenous peoples who used the shelter for centuries — the cave features a seasonal waterfall that flows over the rim after rain or snowmelt. It remains one of the most visited and photographed sites in all of Ohio.
